The firth blog post is going to introduce Apex Legends to all of you. Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game and was released for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. I am playing its Windows PC server and the game is currently in its fourth season.
Each match generally features twenty teams of three-player squads. Players can join friends in a squad or can be matched randomly with other players. Prior to the match, each player on the squad selects one of the Legends, with the exception that no Legend may be selected more than once by a squad. All teams are then placed on an aircraft that passes over the game map. One player in each squad is the jumpmaster, selecting when the squad should skydive out of the aircraft and where to land with the concurrence of the other squad members. However, players are free to deviate from the squad’s path.
Once on the ground, the squad can scavenge for weapons, armour, and other equipment that is scattered around buildings, or in crates randomly distributed around the map, while keeping an eye out for other squads. Apex Legends includes a nonverbal communication “Ping system” which allows players to use their game controller to communicate to their squad certain directions, weapon locations, enemies and suggested strategies. Players who become knocked down in the course of a game can be revived by their squadmates. Should a player be killed completely, they can still be resurrected if their team members collect their respawn banner, which appears at the place where they died, and bring it to one of several beacons on the island. The banner, however, must be collected within a time limit, before expiring and fully eliminating the player. You can get an idea from my video below that I saved A by killed her enemy after B died and A took B’s respawn banner with her.
Another feature I like in Apex Legends is the firing range. The firing range allows you to try any weapons with shooting areas and inactive dummies. You can also try out any legends you want in firing range, simply change legends in setting and you can try any of them. Below is a video that I tried a new legend and also trained to shoot more accurate.
Since dummies in firing range are inactive, Apex Legends updated one of the feature in firing range in season 3 Easter which is called the Easter Eggs (the active training dummies)! To activate firing range training dummies, there are a few things you need to do:
- No weapons – you can have shields and body armour and backpacks just no weapons so drop them off
- Go to the far right bunkers
- Look up and there is a little platform just wrap it up to there
- Crouching and looking down
- Change legend
- Listen carefully, there will be a clunk
- Slide down and you will see they are alive -> Fight back and train!
This is a fun little tip for you all! Train your skill before dealing with all the enemies. Also, try out all the legends that are new for you. If you have any questions, feel free to write them down below and I will reply as soon as possible. Do not forget to check out my game lives too! Click here!
