As the coronavirus disease outbreak worldwide, starting from March 17, 2020, all B.C. public schools will be closed for now. Most students in B.C. were scheduled to return to school on March 30. Instead, it’s not yet known when they’ll be back. I think it has been a public panic since then for sure. This is a big issue worldwide and no one could control how the virus outbreaks.
For me, I bought an air ticket a week ago to the UK visiting my friend… But two days ago he told me that the UK is at risk and border is closing soon. I am quite disappointed that I have already planned to have a Spring break in the UK because I haven’t been to the UK before. My friend is graduating as well so this is the last chance for me to visit him and for us to enjoy our holiday together! No one could control this so I decided to cancel my air ticket…
To consider where should I go during Spring break, my family and I discussed that if I should go back home to Hong Kong in April. Discussions ongoing but on March 20, 2020, Canada-U.S. border closed to non-essential travel. The thing that we concerned most is that I could not get back to Canada after my semester break and that may influence my studies. Also, be at the airport and in a plane is quite dangerous too because you will not know where the virus was! In sum, I can just stay in Canada and basically stay at home for my holiday. That is quite sad but I am fine with it.
Under coronavirus disease, please do care of yourself and others by limiting contact. Use face masks, disposable gloves and hand sanitizer when needed. Wash hands frequently with soap that kills germs. Do not share personal items with ill person, such as toothbrushes, towels, bed linen, utensils or electronic devices. Also, use a separate bathroom from the ill person if possible. If you need to be within 2 meters of the ill person, wear a face mask, disposable gloves and eye protection.
Hope everyone is fine at the moment! Be healthy and be happy! 🙂
